The story behind Filechecker

There is plenty of content online. The hard part is finding something that has been thought through. That is what Filechecker is about. The reader comes first, always.

Our principles

  1. Respect for your time: The answer first, the explanation afterwards.
  2. Thoroughness: We read more than we write.
  3. Clarity: Short when it can be short. Long when it has to be long.
  4. Honesty: We do not dress things up – especially not when the answer is boring.

Typically you come here because you have a concrete problem to solve. That is the reason we stick to what works: what works, what does not, and why.

What we write

Format and length follow the subject. If it can be said briefly, we say it briefly – and the big topics get the thoroughness they deserve. The main thing is that you get further.

Why Filechecker?

The basic thought is straightforward: knowledge is only worth something when it can be used. That is why we stick to what matters, translate technical language into plain English, and stop when the point has been made.

Before we write, we get properly into the details, talk to people who know more than us when possible. Then we draft – and let it rest for a day before editing.

Good to have you here. See the posts – and if something is on your mind, use the contact page if you miss a topic.
